For World Polio day on Oct 24, 2017, Semiahmoo Rotarian Stewart Peddemors offered his incredible talent for carving pumkins to help raise funds for the final push to eradicate polio from the world for good!

Stewart began carving this masterpiece at 7:58 AM on Thursday Oct 26, 2017. He completed the piece in an astounding 23 minutes as  the masterpiece went up for auction at 8:21 AM

With only 12 Wild Polio cases reported for 2017 as of Oct 26, 2017 the final push is more important than ever to eradicate Polio for good! The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced in April of 2017 that they will contribute an additonal $2.00 for every $1.00 raised upto $450,000,000 over the next three years.
The  Semiahmoo rotary club raised $417 this morning  from several auction items, including the pumpkin and individuals stuffing the Polio cans on the tables.  That means with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation match of 2:1 we are able to contribute $1251 to help eradicate Polio.
Charlotte Morton was the highest bidder for the pumpkin and promptly put it on display at work just in time for Halloween.
