October 2009 marked the start up date for Semiahmoo Rotary Club's Dental Outreach Program in the Weatherby Pavilion at Peace Arch Hospital.

Ken Stones, a local dentist originally involved with our club when the Butch LaRoue Denitstry Room was initiated years ago, realized the room was available a few days per week.

Our club's Community Services Committee provided initial funding, and the opportunity to provide dental care to the disadvantaged and homeless in the South Surrey/White Rock area was made possible.

Dr. Ken Stones works continually to recruit local dentists to volunteer their time, solicit donations from dental suppliers and arrange for a dental assistant. Sources (Peace Arch Community Services & Food Bank) selects at risk families who need dental services and schedules appointments. Peace Arch Hospital , after observing the incredible success of the program after its first six months, has forgiven room and equipment rental costs.
