2019 marks Semiahmoo Rotary Club’s 30th annual Charity Golf Tournament! Over the years the support of our players and sponsors have provided more than $2 million to fund many vital community organizations and Rotary projects.

Some of these include Women’s Shelters and Transitional Housing, Peace Arch Hospice Society, Sources Food Bank and Imagination Library, Peace Arch Free Dental Clinic and many projects at the Peace Arch Hospital. One hundred percent of the net Sources Sponsortournament proceeds are contributed back to our community to improve the lives of those in need!

This year our Golf Tournament is proud to support a new initiative being launched by  Sources Community Resource Centres called DiscoverY aimed at improving mental wellness in youth and young adults.

According to the Canadian Mental Health Association 50 – 70% of mental health illnesses develop prior to age 18. However, it is estimated that only one in four youth in Canada who need mental health services, receive them. These findings are supported by an Adolescent Health Survey where 11% of adolescents reported not accessing services they felt they needed. Through the DiscoverYprogram young people ages 12 to 25 will be able to access barrier-free, no cost counselling services in White Rock and South Surrey.

Our Golf Tournament will also continue to fulfill our pledge of to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation in support of construction of Emergency Pediatric Care rooms in the new ER facilities.

With the help of everyone who took part in our golf tournament we are grateful to be able to make a lasting impact in our community!
